Avery Dellinger: My job that I found was as a User Experience Designer for Tesla so I feel like there were definitely a lot of the same requirements between what I had and what the others had, but then again it seemed like I had a couple requirements that ended up being outliers because I also had the most requirements and also the longest requirements. It seems like Tesla is asking for more because they seem to be able to afford to ask for more because they are a very up-and-coming company with lots of people wanting to work for them.

Summary: In 2024 UX design is transforming significantly due to technology and industry changes. The articles I choose explore this evolving landscape focusing on key themes and trends. The first article highlights the impacts of automation, saturation, commoditization, financialization, and disintegration. It touched heavily on AI and how increasing efficiency may pose threats such as job reductions and diminished user trust. The article emphasizes that people in design should be strategic and confident. The second article explores specific design trends like Bento Boxes influence on modular design, the rise of spatial design with AR/VR, and the accessibility of animation tools. The shift to 3D visuals is becoming an outstanding trend, notably in how Airbnb is utilizing 3Dish visuals. Both articles stress the role of empathetic UX , accessibility, recognizing that user trust is limited, and that ethical design decisions are a must. The demand for accessible design reflects a commitment to inclusivity urging designers to consider all users. UX designers in 2024 adapt to technological shifts, prioritize user-centric design, and stay updated on emerging trends, ensuring a dynamic and inclusive future for UX design.
I maintained structure in this group exercise and I made sure that what I was in charge of was getting done. I was in charge of the slides, I led in-class discussions, I scheduled times to meet outside of class to work more on this, and I led the affinity diagraming.
